Pretty Thoughts

  • What A Girl Wants..

This is going to be a very blunt, very "to the point" kind of post. Brace yourself.

God made all of us differently. Not all of us can or ever will be a size 2. And ya know what, it'd be a flipping boring world if we all looked the same. Who are we to judge what size someone should be? I would like to promote healthiness to anyone, but like I just said; we are all different. More than healthiness, I would like to encourage happiness. Happiness, in my opinion, is that most important attribute in this life. If you aren't happy with who you are, you'll never be able to enjoy this life at it's fullest potential.

It's no secret that I used to be heavy. Everyone always says, "I can't imagine you being big..." But people, I was. When I graduated high school I was 5"4 weighing in at a whopping 189. (or 198) <--- I get a little dyslexic sometimes. I really try to block out that period in my life, but it has made me the woman that I am today. 189/198 is not HUGE. However for my height, it was just too large. I'd like to think I held my largeness well. Have you know, I was one of the most stylish girls in school. Big booty and all. I remember what it was like going shopping, and not being able to wear the things my sister was getting. I just wanted to be cute. Although, I was big... I wanted more than anything to dress like a skinny girl. Which brings me to my next point...

When I first started carrying clothing here at the store, I had a MONGO complex with selling "PLUS" size clothing. I resisted it for months and months. My mother would call, and I'd get so mother lovin' agitated that we'd literally get into arguments and not talk for days. Looking back, I'd like to give myself a kick in the shins. You know how people always say, "Don't forget where you came from..."? I had to remind myself of that same concept. Who was I to say that larger women couldn't be stylish? How selfish of me. After my epiphany, PLUS size clothing was born at The Elle.

Now, let me make this clear. FOR THE MOST PART, these clothes are a "Junior Plus" line. Therefore, when I say they come XL-3XL, keep in mind that these are Junior PLUS sizes. If you ever have any questions on sizing, we can usually break it down for you from piece to piece. We don't have just TONS of PLUS clothing, but I assure I intend on going full blown PLUS one day. As of now, this is what we have to offer...

Well, isn't she just a sexy devil?! What in the H-E-double hockey sticks would I do without her... (I don't want to find out)

    Coral Rays - Available in 1XL, and 2XL - $34

    Peach Lovin' - Available in XL, 1XL, 2XL - $34

    Emilia top - Available in XL, 1XL, 2XL - $35

For MORE plus cuties - visit the website and view our PLUS collection!

    Now, it's your turn...

In terms of PLUS apparel, what would you like to see? More dresses? Jeans? More arm coverage? Fill me in! Remember, without you... my job is not possible. I deeply value your sweet little opinions. There's been much excitement about The Elle carrying PLUS clothing, so make it worth YOUR while, as well as mine. Comment below and let me know the NUMBER ONE thing you'd love to see.

And babes, don't ever let anyone tell you that you aren't beautiful. Because you are. The comments, the stares, the criticism, shake it off. Haters gonna hate. Potatoes gonna pa-tate. Be stylish. Be confident. Be YOU.

    In summation,

    Xo, Adele.

Jusqu'à demain, <--- [10% OFF ANY item to the FIRST person that can tell me what that says..]

I love the current “Piko” fad. I have one shirt similar to the piko style but it is the only one I have found that fits me right. I would love to see something like that. I also love tunics and dresses, anything I can pair with leggings.
